How The App Uses Information (On-Device Only)
To provide its core functionality, Sonic Compass requires access to certain systems on your device. The handling of this information is strictly limited to your device.
Compass & Motion Data
Purpose: The app's entire function is to determine the direction of magnetic North. To do this, it needs access to your device's magnetometer and motion sensors.
How it's used: This data is processed in real-time on your device to generate the corresponding spatial audio and haptic feedback. This information is processed ephemerally—it is used for a fraction of a second to create the sound and then it is discarded. It is never stored permanently, logged, or sent off your device.
Background Activity
Purpose: For the app to provide a continuous and effortless learning experience, it needs permission to run in the background.
How it's used: This allows the app to play directional sounds even when the screen is off or you are using another application. This functionality is essential for passive learning and does not involve any background data collection.
Third-Party Services
We do not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. The app is entirely self-contained.
Children's Privacy
We do not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Since we collect no data at all, we believe the app is safe for all ages, but it is not specifically directed at children.
